Fistula Surgery
Fistula surgery is a medical procedure performed to treat fistulas, which are abnormal connections between two body parts, such as the rectum and skin, intestines, or other organs. Fistulas often result from chronic infections, abscesses, inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn’s disease), or trauma, and can cause pain, discharge, irritation, and recurrent infections if left untreated.

Fistula surgery is generally performed under local, spinal, or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity and patient health. Postoperative care includes wound hygiene, pain management, antibiotics if needed, and dietary modifications. Healing can take several weeks, and follow-up is essential to prevent recurrence.
